Would the new popular 'skype' application work on the iPod touch as well as the iPhone?

Also, if it works (which I assume it would)... would it work as well? because is there a built in microphone on the touch? I know there is a small speaker. So would you perhaps need an enhancement for it to work.

Skype works well on the iPod Touch. It has the same microphone and speakers as the iPhone. No enhancements required.

The main issue is staying in a decent wifi network.

Skype definitely bothers cell phone companies, but if you have an iPod touch you likely have a cell phone too, so they get your money anyway. If you use Skype on an iPhone, the cell company loses out on potential int'l fees, but you're using the data plan which they make $$ on.

Using a Touch with Skype as a cell phone replacement is pretty sketchy unless you never leave your house or office. The phone companies are less worried about this.
