Is there a "Must Have" Mac apps?

I've been using DOS / Windows based systems from the '80s. I never had a Mac before. Last night, I took one to look at developing applications for the iPhone. The Mac OS 10.4 has been caught, so upgrade to 10.5 before I can make this work. So while I look for a new version of the operating system, there are other programs that would be looking while I'm at the store? Thank you.

I never had much luck with the Chinese clones. I do not think the software is not as good as Apple's software - which is why the iPhone is so popular. 3GS (iPhone please help)?

This means that the phone is not fully connected to the Internet. If something like that of the Sidekick internet service when are 3 points which means that after you connect to the Internet.
