You have to unlock it to work (which applies to any phone). However, unlike many phones, AT & T will not unlock for you, including fees. You will use purplera1n and not upgrade to 3.1 (weight loss of MMS and other things). Unfortunately, if you are buying outside the Apple site may not be able to unlock it. 3.1 has been seen in stores, so I think now Apple would have to iPhone 3G upgrades in place to come with version 3.1 so there's nothing you can do.

All you can do is back up your apps and songs and restore from the backup afterwards. And you won't be able to jailbreak 3.0 until later, so it's either 3.0 or jailbreak right now.

Im not sure it is a price very high and I would not recommend buying without seeing u in real life and knowing that is unlocked and not just an image or something. IPhone Still in the price, why not wait and buy without any ulterior motives. However, the guy has a good story and good message, but its entirely up to you.
