iphone g3 battery
How's the T mobile G1? ?
I'm thinking about getting the t-mobile G1 since my t-mobile contract has expired and the G3 network and touchscreen seems like a nice touch. However, the phone looks pretty clunky and I'v read some bad reviews about the battery life. Is this a phone worth getting? I currently have an unlocked AT&T tilt but I hate it because the touch screen is too small and only works well with a stylus.
Is a G1 with t-mobile better than a factory unlocked iphone with t-mobile?
If your reception for T-Mobile is so spotty in that location it might not be worth it. Still going to be a little while before unlocked versions start showing up.
I really like the G1. The OS rocks. Customization is nice. Having a touchscreen, full keyboard, and trackball gives you a lot of control options. Best web browsing on any phone I've every used.
There are issues with battery life because it is a data intensive phone, but if you're not that worried about using GPS or 3G, you can get a day's worth of use out of it. (Oddly, WiFi seems to drain the battery less quickly than 3G.)
Other issues:
SD card management. There is no file browsing for it. Nor the option to install apps to it, yet. The phone has access to the data on it. No problem reading mp3s, pictures, or video, but you can only access them through the respective apps.
No stereo bluetooth.
Haven't seen an app for data tethering yet.
There are others here and there throughout the forum. Depends on what functionality users were previously accustomed to having. But that's the beauty of it. As firmware updates roll out and apps appear on the market, the phone becomes whatever you want it to be. It is really customizable.
The phone will charm you. It feels solid and secure. The chin actually makes it feel like a phone because it curve to your face. Find a shop and demo the phone.
